サギソウ

I was very impressed to see White Egret Flower when I saw it for the first time in my life. It was a masterpiece of flower. Many questions arose in my mind, why nature bore such a beautiful flower which very much resembles a bird, Snowy Egret (SAGI in Japanese)　flying over the sky. 

We can find many wonders of beautiful nature among millions of beautiful species of flowers, fishes, birds, animals, insects and can analyze them with our modern science and technologies, but when someone asks us to make a new creation like a flower or an insect, the answer would be “It is impossible”. As often as I see White Egret Flower, I feel there exists some unknown superpower which designs such a beautiful nature. The unique shape and beauty of the White Egret Flower attracted my family’s hearts, and we decided it should be the symbol flower for the family. I also feel it is our duty to preserve these precious gifts offered by nature.

あるお家を訪問した時に、その質素で誠実な暮らしぶりと共に、いくつかの小さな植木鉢が目にとまりました。その中で一輪のサギソウが、凛として美しく咲いていました。一輪の花が印象強く、今も昨日のことのように思い出されるのは、その知人の暮らしぶりに感動したせいだと思います。
